I`m not sure which pistol you have, but some do have to be in
Lovey Dovey(:
fire mode to load. Not to go against Hangfire on this, but you should

absolutely test the safety! Point your gun downrange, with the safety on

and it should NOT fire when you pull the trigger. If it does it needs to

be repaired.

Yes, although safeties are only mechanical and can fail. Treat
Melly Bear
it as if the safety is off.

treat every gun like it will fire at all times loaded or
String Bean
unloaded, but the real answer is that if your gun is reliable it wont fire

It should not fire on safe. Yes you can put it on safety as you
The Bubbas
should with the gun loaded. Next time you post give make and model.

Angelina

Your safety most likely blocks the trigger AND the bolt.

IF it WILL fire with the safety ON, it needs repair!!

That is exactly the reason for a safety. Load it, put it on
Flirtz
safe, and it will be ready to fire when you are.

yes you most definitely can. My bolt action rifle is the same
Scooter

The safety should hold but I wouldn't test it.

It depends upon the make & model of the pistol, but in most

situations the answer is ''yes''.
